Loft Conversions

There are many benefits of a loft conversion. Regardless of the type of conversion, you’ll be increasing the headroom and space in your loft to create additional rooms and/or a bathroom, along with the benefit of more natural light from any new windows that are fitted.

Below you’ll find a description of the different types of loft conversion. There are some considerations that need to be taken into account, such as minimum head heights and planning permission, however we at Truebuild Lofts Ltd will work with you to ascertain which loft is right for you and your home.

• Hip to gable loft: Extends the sloping side of a roof to create a vertical gable roof.
• Mansard loft: A horizontal roof with a slight angled back wall.
• L shaped loft: Where two loft spaces are joined to make one l shaped dormer, creating space for 2 or more rooms.
• Dormer conversion: Extends the back side of a sloping roof to extend a dormer with a flat roof.
• Velux conversion: No roof alterations. The loft floor is strengthened and velux windows are added for natural light and airflow.
